Product Description

Tired of practicing your swing for weeks on end with nothing to show for it? Turn to the Swingyde golf training aid, which helps you achieve greater distance and accuracy each time you step on the course. The Swingyde works intuitively, with a clip that attaches to the shaft of your club on one end, and a built-in rest that touches your left forearm on the other. The rest encourages your wrist to cock properly during the swing, helping improve your swing plane, swing tempo, clubface alignment, impact position, and follow through. Now you can know what it feels like to swing like a pro. The Swingyde is lightweight and easy to attach, and works for both right- and left-handed golfers.

Great aide for keeping hands in correct position

Review Date: January 29, 2007
Reviewer: Dr Bob, CA
I had used this item with an instructor and it was easy to see and feel the correct position of the hands/arms in the backswing. He said it was the only aide he recommends for purchase, even though there are many, many types on the market. I can see why this is all you need to correct a misalignment of the hands in the backswing.
It is easy to attach to the club for practice, using it is easy and after a short time, there is no need to continue as the hand position becomes automatic...
Money well spent!
Wow....It really works!!!!

Lets face it, US$30.00 for what looks like a cheap piece of plastic. Not very convincing. This is what I thought over and over. Until finally I decided to try it. What the heck, with my scores getting higher than the price of oil, it would be the cheapest of the gimmicks out there. When the package arrived, I even laughed...This is it?. However, I took it to to the driving range a few times over the week, and it was really simple to use. Whats even more impressing is that it works!! I started off just practicing my chips and pitching shots. On my first day on the course after having only practiced with the device 3 times at the range, my swing showed improvement. That day I shaved 10 strokes from my previous score on the same course. With the use of this device to warm up on the practice range, I have a fresh image of what my swing should be before beginning the round. It seems to work very well. I highly recommend it.
Outstanding Product!

This is the first review I have ever given a golf product. My swing was slowly self destructing this year. I developed a fade that was getting worse and worse. After realizing that it was not the clubs, I tried a couple different training aids. Finally, I saw the reviews on the swingyde. I ordered it and tried it. At first, it was not correcting my swing and then I realized that I was not following the directions.

After watching the DVD and reading the instructions again, I finally figured out what I was doing wrong. Shortly after, I was swinging perfectly.

In a nutshell, this device puts you in a great position on the takeaway and then also puts you in a perfect position at the finish. For those of us who have trouble "releasing the club", this is the answer. After 20 minutes, my muscles started memorizing the swing path. I have now been using it daily for 20 minutes a night inside (which is very relaxing after the kids go to bed). This swingyde is the real deal and I am telling my family and friends about it.

I had a question and emailed the creator of the swingyde in Australia and he emailed me back the same day. He is a great guy and very helpful. I can't recommend it enough!
Great Training Aid

The Swingyde is the best golf training aid I've ever used. It provides instant feedback on both your backswing and followthrough. Not only did it help me fix my slice, but I now use it before every round as part of my warm-up routine to ensure that I haven't fallen back into bad habits.
Fixed my slice

I have a huge slice off the tee. After using the swing glide for a week, I am hitting the ball a lot straighter and with the right distance.
Great product! Helps straighten things out. 5-handicap

I have a tendency to start hooking the ball sometimes. 10 minutes on the range with the Swingyde will take the hook right out of my shot. It helps get me in a good position at the top and hold the plane through follow through. I bought this on recommendation from another friend (2 hcp)and I have since recommended it to several other people.
Beats buying extremely pricey golf clubs ...

Maybe the cost of producing this training device does not even exceed a dollar. So, basically when one buys it one pays for the golfing improvement one gets out of it.

Is it worth the money? The answer is a big YES. Among the priceless benefits one gets, the device makes the formation of the habit of executing what Jack Nicklaus calls in his Golf My Way classic as an "ideal top-of-the-swing clubface position" a lot easier. It also ingrains the technique of not overswinging the club, by defining the angle formed by the left arm and the shaft of the golf club at the top of the backswing.

Highly recommended product. One of the best golf training devices out there. The benefits easily beat buying extremely pricey golf sets.
The cheapest alternative to a PGA pro watching your swing

The swingyde is a plastic tool that attaches to your grip on every club in your bag. There are even configurations to help with putting and even ways to that allow you to use two at the same time for wedge shots. For $29.95, it's money well spent. I used this in my initial trials at playing and learning golf - but I found that it's good maintenance when your swing starts losing its mark. This fits easily in your bag for practice sessions. The only other useful training aid that does this is the Momentus travel iron.

Momentus Swing Trainers - Signature Tour Iron

This comes with two instruction guides and a 13 minute DVD hosted by Jim Flick.

This is a simple tool to help you know you're right on track with your golf swing. Immediate feedback is what this is all about. You know how your backswing and follow through should feel.

If you find the Medicus or Refiner iron too expensive, this is the alternative to help your swing plane get back on track.

Medicus Junior's Dual Hinged 5 Iron
Medicus Men's Dual Hinged 7 Iron
ReFiner Pro Hinged 5 Iron, Right Handed Mens

It won't solve all of your problems but it's a good start.

Best portable full swing training aid

Impressions after a couple of weeks...

First, I will admit that the price is outrageous for this simple little piece of plastic (and the included DVD, which you can watch in advance on YouTube), but I tell you what, this thing absolutely does what it claims to do! After just a couple of practice sessions (swinging in the back yard), not only am I swinging on plane, but I am able to detect other swing flaws (like cranking my hips too early which opens the club face). Over a short period of time, I feel like I am naturally "in the groove" when I swing, and I am thinking less about all of the mechanics. This thing definitely helps to create muscle memory and the natural (and correct) feel for the golf swing. On my first golf outing after working 10 minutes for 5 consecutive nights with the Swingyde, I played the best golf I have ever played. My club face was square and I connected with the ball better than I ever have. (I generally shoot in the 110 range and on this last round, I scored 98). If you are handy with tools, you may be able to rig up something like this product, but for the rest of us, spend the $25 and get "on plane". If the rating scale went to 10, I would rate this product a 10.
