I do recommend graphite (stiff flex) over the steel. Reason being is that lighter shaft can be much faster to swing than the steel shaft. My other recommendation with the burner 1.0 is to replace the grips. The original grips tend to slip for me. just my two cents.....

Personally I like the feel of stiff graphite over still steel. It seems lighter to me (depending on the make) and I feel like I can put more power behind the swing.

I would love to hear other comments on this too!

Review: The Taylormade Burner 2009 irons are amazing. The 4 and 5 irons are longer from heel to toe making them much easier to hit. The longer length shafts and stronger loft does yield about 1 club extra distance, however, the longer shaft length (1/2") takes getting used. I also found that my fades are gone in favor of a dead straight shot. Good feel off the face and a great look. I'm glad I purchased them.

To be perfectly honest, probably the best way to correct issues with your swing is to visit your local golf pro shop. Spend $50 or so on a bucket of balls and have one of their pro's watch you swing. There are so many different mechanics to perfecting your swing, its really the fastest and best way to correct bad habits.

For me, I had a bad habit of wanting to just kill the ball (like in baseball). Its a hard habit to break but slowly over time, I've gotten better. I hope this helps!

The clubs were delivered quickly, and were brand new in the box. They are a little large for my 2 year old, but he uses the 9 iron pretty well (the others are a little to long right now). He's a pretty tall kid for his age, but these are definitely for 4 and 5 year olds. Other than that, no complaints.

excellent product for golf beginners; have been able to hit straight on course with the driver. The putter needs getting used to (maybe its just my skills and not the club). This set doesn't have a 5 Iron but a hybrid and that works out even better on 150+ yards play. Sand Wedge is a must have for shorter yard play and better to buy XL5000 vs other set from Top Flite that doesn't include SW & PW. Good investment for $300 and you add add individual clubs from brand names like Ping, Nike, Callaway as you go along and improve your game.

I got these golf clubs for my grandson who loves to "golf" and is always using his dad's clubs. My granson is 3 years old, but tall for his age. These were the perfect size and it is amazing what he can do with clubs that are actually the correct size. I would highly recommend the clubs. It would have been nice to have a bag that you didn't need to lay of the ground, but that is just minor in my opinion.
