TaylorMade Burners are best known for their longer distance and the 2009 edition TaylorMade Burner Irons are no exception. The team at TaylorMade re-engineered the previous model Burners and made substantial changes to create the new 2009 models.

The new Burner irons distinguish themselves from last year’s with more distinct distance gaps between the short, long and middle irons. The irons were designed so you get long and forgiving long-irons (larger heads, wider soles, longer shafts), long and accurate middle irons (mid-size heads and soles, longer shafts) and accurate and responsive short irons (thinner toplines, narrower sole, longer shafts). Though even the ‘thinner topline’ (see pic below) short irons were quite thick by my used-to-blades standards, but for game improvement clubs, they could certainly be termed ‘thin’.
